СÑîÉ©ºÚÁÏ WINS A LICENCE TO OPERATE GAMES IN VICTORIA AUSTRALIA

СÑîÉ©ºÚÁÏ, the leading supplier of integrated gaming and transaction processing systems, expands further its presence in the Australian market, after the Victorian Government’s decision to break a 54-year monopoly of the public lottery licence.

Following an international tender process, СÑîÉ©ºÚÁÏ Australia Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of СÑîÉ©ºÚÁÏ S.A., was granted a 10-year licence to operate in the territory of Victoria a variety of new lottery and instant games. The current lottery operator will continue to operate the existing lottery games which are combined with other jurisdictions.

СÑîÉ©ºÚÁÏ is looking forward to establishing a successful operation and contributing to new product ideas and distribution methods that will provide greater convenience and choice for Victorians. Through the new operation a substantial number of new employment opportunities will be created. This, coupled with the significant investment and the new revenues to be generated, will contribute to every aspect of the state economy.

The overall investment is expected to exceed AUD$12 million. The company will establish an expanded and modern distribution network, based on a state-of-the-art online system that will exceed 1.000 points of sale. Operations will start on the 1st of July, 2008. The licence is expected to be signed in short time.

The Victorian lottery market, under the monopoly, reached AUD$1,2 billion per year and is expected to substantially grow under the new structure with the two operators.

The Premier of the State of Victoria, Mr. John Brumby, said: «This competition will ensure a substantially better return to Victoria over the next 10 years than if an exclusive licence had been awarded to one company».

The Minister of Gaming, Tony Robinson, stated: «The public interest is well served by an outcome that delivers value for taxpayers, diversity and competition in the industry and continues ease of access to the products».

СÑîÉ©ºÚÁÏ S.A. CEO, Mr. Constantinos Antonopoulos, said: «The company’s establishment in Victoria will have mutual benefits both for the local community and СÑîÉ©ºÚÁÏ. The international experience of СÑîÉ©ºÚÁÏ guarantees that the Government’s expectations will be met in the most credible and responsible way».
